Man Shakes, Chokes, and Smothers one-Month-Old Son Because he Wouldn't Stop Crying

An Oklahoma father was faces child abuse charges after severely injuring his one-month-old son over the course of several days. Robert Jackson Jr., 24, confessed to police that he shook, choked, and smothered the infant because he wouldn't stop crying. He also confessed to throwing the baby into the ceiling fan and afterwards  tossed the infant around in the bathroom where he hit his head on the toilet. Once the one-month-old  began having seizures due to his injuries, Jackson and the infants mom took him to the hospital where doctors found the baby had suffered from extensive and non-accidental injuries, reports inquisitr.

After an examination doctors found the infant had suffered from blood pooling around his brain and multiple skull fractures. An affidavit also states the baby had visible finger print bruises around his throat and visible bruising to his left eye, inquisitr reports. The abuse began on 16 of of August and lasted until August 19. The child's mother who was at work while the incidents occurred, did not seek medical attention for him until August 20. According to the Muskogee Police Department the infant who remains in critical condition, had to be taken to a larger hospital due to the severity of his injuries. Jackson was charged on six counts of child abuse by injury. He is being held on a $1 million bond in the Muskogee County jail. He is scheduled to go to court on Sept. 5.
