Amsterdam baseball president charged in theft

Albany Times Union

The president of the Amsterdam Cal Ripken Baseball League was charged with grand larceny after sheriff deputies said he raided the league’s treasury.

In early March, league officials contacted the Montgomery County Sheriff’s office about missing funds. Investigators charged Paul C. Antonelli, 56, with grand larceny. Deputies did not immediately say how much money was missing, how Antonelli allegedly stole it or if any of the funds were recovered.

He was arraigned via Skype at the county sheriff’s office and released, pending a future court date.
