Mom Explains Why You Shouldn’t Judge People Using Food Stamps. Then The Comments Start Flooding In

All News

Nicole Marso is no stranger to controversy. And when she made a lengthy post on Facebook about why people should stop judging those who use food stamps and other government benefits, she thrilled in watching so many comments roll in. On the social media platform, she proceeded to tell her followers a story about a recent incident she experienced at the grocery store that involved an EBT card.

Because she knows that she’s about to stir the pot, she leads with the following warning. Get ready!

And then she writes:

“Today I was at a local grocery store in the self-checkout, and a mom with 3 youngins was in front of me. She was doing her best to try to keep 3 littles calm while she checked out. After she got all her goods scanned and kept her tiny offspring as quiet as she could, she went to pay. And as she did, I heard a lady behind me, with her nice LV purse, iPhone X in hand, big rocks on her fingers and wrists, nice shoes (you get the picture). Say loud enough for everyone in line to hear but quiet enough to sound like a total b***h. ‘Of course, she’s paying with food stamps.’ *Insert eye roll*.”

How could this woman be so hateful with her comment? She knew that her words were cutting and nasty. Nevertheless, she felt better than the mom on food stamps and wanted to knock the young mother down a few pegs.

“The mom looked back at me in embarrassment to which I responded, ‘Do you, boo. Your kids are adorable.’

“Now let’s talk about me. I was that mom. I went to self-checkout in hopes no one would see me paying with an EBT card. I avoided checkout lines because what would the cashier think.”

You might have wondered why this mother was going to the self-checkout line if she had to scan her own groceries, bag them, and pay for them. But when you think about it the way Nicole did, it makes sense. She wanted to avoid detection, so the woman with all the jewelry had found her weak spot and stuck a dagger into it.

“So why do I still have that card? Missing corners faded out. Because I know where I came from. When I stopped using food stamps, I was so proud. I kept saying throw that thing out, but I never did. And today, I know why. It’s a constant reminder of where I was.”

So when Nicole was in the self-checkout line, she was the ideal person to offer the mother on food stamps support against Cruella de Vil.

“So to you, fancy woman with the nice *** that judges a mama with an EBT card eff off. No, they don’t eat steak and lobster they ration their monthly allowance between turkey sammiches and formula and water bottles. Every time, I buy groceries and enter my debit card into the stupid chip thing I remember when I had to swipe my EBT to feed my family.”

Judging people is not a good habit.
