We lost a legend this weekend.
Rodger Bird played football at Kentucky from 1963-1965. He was a first team All-American in his final season, and went on to play professionally for the Oakland Raiders in the American Football League.
In 2005, Bird was inducted into the UK Athletics Hall of Fame behind his career 1,699 yards and 21 touchdowns. Unfortunately, on Saturday afternoon he passed away at his home in Henderson, Kentucky.
The Corbin native was a special talent coming up in the 1950’s, and he will always be remembered for his career at Kentucky and his legacy as a Kentuckian.

Devin Askew, Terrence Clarke, and BJ Boston are putting in work to prepare for their arrival at Kentucky. Without summer workouts in Lexington, this could be key to building their team chemistry.
