Rockets rookie Gary Clark left practice on Friday to find a new Mercedes GLE waiting for him, courtesy of – or at least with help from – Rockets guard Chris Paul. Clark said he does not yet know if he will be paying for his new ride or how much, but Paul had taken it upon himself without telling Clark to make the arrangements.
"He helped me get a car," Clark said. "He talked to my people and they figured it all out and all the logistics. He knew I was trying to get a car and get everything situated. He talked to my financial agent, my agent. They surprised me with it (Friday). They didn't keep me in the loop. I'm usually on top of everything. He played a big part helping my team get it."
Clark said he'll talk to his agent during the coming off days to find out what he is paying, but on Friday and Saturday, "They just wanted me to focus on the game."
