The Rockets began free agency with a rapid agreement with swingman Gerald Green, who had been clear about his intention to return to his hometown team, a person with knowledge of the deal said.
Green, who had signed a 10-day contract with the Rockets on Dec. 28, 2017, quickly agreed to sign a one-year deal with the Rockets last July and immediately took another one-year, minimum contract with the Rockets on Sunday.
Green, 33, averaged 9.2 points in 20.2 minutes per game with the Rockets last season, his 12th NBA season after he was drafted as the 18th pick in 2005 out of Gulf Shores Academy.
