Six Flags Fiesta Texas is planning to open a steampunk ride called Daredevil Dive Flying Machines next summer.

Riders seated on six four-seater “flying machines” will soar nearly five stories while listening to a steampunk soundtrack. The ride will be the tallest of its kind, according to the park.

“Guests will simulate the breathtaking aerobatic maneuvers of an expert stunt pilot as they swoop and spin through numerous barrel rolls and exhilarating loops and dives,” park President Jeffrey Siebert said.

Six Flags recently opened a Joker-themed ride, believed to be the world’s tallest pendulum ride at 17 stories.

The San Antonio theme park has added several other new rides in the last few years: the Wonder Woman Golden Lasso Coaster in 2018, the Thunder Rapids water coaster in 2017 and Batman: The Ride, a 4D roller coaster, in 2015.

Other amusement parks and attractions have also been beefing up their offerings.

SeaWorld San Antono opened an immersive sea turtle exhibit and two new rides in May after building Ihu’s Breakaway Falls, the tallest drop slide in Texas, in March. The park is also teasing a new attraction opening next year and recently put out a brief video clip that pans from above ocean waves to murky depths.
