Tip leads to drug, identity fraud bust
A tip from a neighbor led to a drug and identity fraud bust in 4000 block of Diane and the arrests of a Beaumont man and woman Tuesday.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force received complaints about drugs being used and sold from a home in Beaumont. According to a press release from the department, a narcotics task force investigated the complaint confirmed meth and heroin were being used and sold out of the home.
The task force raided the home Tuesday, finding meth residue, heroin, pills along with fake Texas drivers licenses and ID cards.
According to the release, the group was also involved in identity thefts, credit card fraud and other related crimes. Detectives are still investigating the fake IDs.
