Vidor PD: Truck hit by train after stalling on track

A truck was hit by a train in Vidor Wednesday afternoon after it stalled on the tracks, according to information from the Vidor Police Department.

Officials responded to the scene near the intersection of US 90 and N. Dewitt at approximately 5 p.m.

The train was travelling eastbound when a truck attempting to cross the tracks stalled in the trains path, the department said.

The driver attempted to push the truck off the track but could not. The train hit the vehicle at a low speed, VPD said.
