Young Americans embrace socialism, even among Miami Cubans

MIAMI (AP) — A wave of young Americans is beginning to openly embrace socialism. The shift is evident even among Miami Cubans, who constitute one of the nation's most staunchly anti-left populations.

Although the definition of socialism varies widely, some of its principles are finding a new audience in millennials and Generation Z voters. They are expected to make up 37% of the U.S. electorate ahead of the 2020 presidential election.

Andy Vila is a 21-year-old Cuban American in Miami. He says his generation is more concerned with solving current problems than fighting past ideological wars.
