Normal Pregnancy Quickly Turns Into One Of The Most Rare Cases Once Doctor’s See Her Ultrasound

because I am sad

There are women who are struggling to get pregnant and are not so lucky to have a child. So for a family who has been waiting to conceive for so many years, learning that you are finally expecting a baby is a blessing. There are couples who have to wait for years to start a family and one of them is a couple from New Orleans.

Finally, their prayers have been answered in the most surprising way! They were not only blessed with one child, but their prayers were answered six times!

The New Orleans couple Courtney and Phillip Garrett were trying to conceive since 2009 and Courtney was in her late 20s at that time. They were not so lucky so they decided to settle on using In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).

This process is very tedious and Courtney said that going through IVF was very emotionally draining for her not knowing if this is really going to work or not. When the doctors gave her two fertilized embryos, the couple was very lucky. However, one of the eggs split, creating a very rare situation.

According to statistics, the odds of multiple births like having a twin or triplets is 1 in 67 pregnancies. In Courtney’s case, her pregnancy was even rarer. One of her fertilized embryos split so it left her with three fertilized eggs. This means that the couple is expecting a triplet! They were so happy to hear the news and later that year, Courtney gave birth to Jack, Oliver, and Ellie. Little did they know that this was just the beginning of the blessings that the couple will receive.

Just last year, the couple decided to try IVF again to give their first three a younger sibling. However, during the ultrasound, the couple was once again shocked by the result. “The ultrasound came up and we could see there were two circles, so I was like, ‘Wait a minute.’,” the couple shared. Phillip even joked that the embryo will split again and to their surprise, it sure did! Courtney conceived naturally and also through IVF just in the same month. In this case, she was expecting a triplet conceived from two different methods.

According to the tests conducted, Courtney was again pregnant with triplets after one of the embryos split. She said that when the doctor saw the results, he was also shocked that he actually turned white! Courtney sure had a very unusual case.

The babies that are born from split embryos will be identical and since one of those babies were naturally conceived, her second set of triplets will not be identical.

The doctors told the couple that this kind of case only happens .5 to two times per million cases. This means that the chances would be literally less than one in a million. It was surely a huge blessing for the Garrett family.

They went from two to eight and they couldn’t be happier. Mom and dad made sure that the older siblings would each have one younger sibling to look after and according to birth order. Stories like these are very rare but not impossible. They are just so overwhelmed by the best-answered prayers that they have been waiting to be answered for a very long time.
