The Panthers signed an extra kicker to replace Gano against the Browns.
The Panthers were back on the field today in preparation for Sunday’s game against the Browns. Graham Gano was absent from practice again as he’s battling a knee injury and has been ruled out for Sunday’s game. The Panthers signed Chandler Cantanzaro as an insurance policy to cover for Gano’s absence.
Colin Jones also missed practice today and is listed as questionable after dealing with an illness this week.
Here’s some good news today: Cam Newton threw in the open media portion of practice and isn’t listed as doubtful or questionable for Sunday. That’s good, right?!
Hopefully he’ll be 100% go on Sunday since the Panthers kinda need him in order to succeed. According to Ron Rivera, this week of limited practice was ‘pretty much a normal practice week’ for the franchise quarterback.
