Crews had to use 500 feet of hose as they hiked into the scene to known down the flames. They also scraped a containment line around the free.

Remember to call 911 if you ever see flames or smoke, even if the weather is cold and wet.

Moisture is great – minus the lightning which hit this tree. EFR hiked in; used 500’ of hose with water to knock down the flames; and scrape a line around the tree (Mother Nature kinda was helping but we wanted to be sure). Remember call 911 if you see flames or smoke! pic.twitter.com/bU8cfDbVMW
