UCF picked up a major quarterback grad transfer this morning, when Notre Dame’s Brandon Wimbush announced he would be spending his final collegiate season playing for the Knights.

Wimbush’s decision to pick UCF seems to signal that McKenzie Milton’s availability for 2019 is very much in doubt. Milton was having another outstanding season at quarterback before breaking his leg in the regular season finale against USF.

Whether or not Milton is able to play next fall, he seems pumped to have Wimbush in the fold. In fact, Milton already “liked” and commented on Wimbush’s Instagram announcement.

“Let’s ride bra!!!” he wrote.

Brandon Wimbush is grad-transferring to UCF, and McKenzie Milton approves.

Adding Wimbush makes UCF a better team. The former four-star recruit lost his starting role to Ian Book this season, but still boasts plenty of physical ability and big-game experience.

Putting him in UCF’s high-octane scheme should do wonders for Wimbush, and he clearly has Milton’s full support, which also helps.

Wimbush threw for 719 yards and 4 touchdowns during the 2018 season. For his career in South Bend, he threw for 2,606 yards, 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while rushing for 1,156 yards and 16 scores.
