Texas head football coach Tom Herman is facing some major criticism this week for what he said following his team’s loss to West Virginia. The 43-year-old head coach wondered why Mountaineers’ quarterback Will Grier wasn’t called for a taunting penalty on his game-winning score. It came across as fairly petty, especially considering what Herman did at Texas’ bowl game last year.
Criticism is nothing new for Herman, who hasn’t always seemed to handle adversity very well as the Longhorns’ head coach.
One college football writer has taken the criticism to another level.
The Big Lead’s Ryan Phillips has called Herman the “biggest jackass” in college football.

From the story:
Hey Tom? Grow up. You’re supposed to be the adult in the room, not encouraging your team to look like morons. He’s also a guy who calls into radio shows to complain about reporting while trying to escape with half-truths, and one former player this summer asked for Herman to keep his name out of his mouth.
Criticism of Herman is certainly fair at this point. Is he actually the “biggest jackass” in college football? Probably not, but he might be the major coach facing the most criticism right now. Texas is a ridiculously high-pressure job and, at times, Herman could definitely handle it better.
