82 new fatalities in CT coronavirus pandemic brings total statewide to 2,339

The state Department of Public Health on Friday afternoon announced that 89 new COVID-19 fatalities were reported, bringing the total in the state pandemic to 2,339.
But the net downward trend in hospitalizations continues to keep Connecticut on track for a slow reopening of closed businesses. The net loss of 58 patients brought the total hospitalized to 1,592.
Another 1,064 people were found to have COVID-19, bringing that total to 28,764.
On Thursday, 89 new fatalities brought the statewide total to 2,257. There was a decline of 41 hospitalizations, for a total of 1,650.
