Beyonce Knowles’ dad Mathew was ‘shocked’ — and confused — when he received a flurry of messages congratulating him on his daughter’s news this week.

Now Mathew, who teaches courses on the entertainment industry at the School of Communication at Texas Southern University, has revealed how he eventually came to learn such news. ‘I was shocked,’ the 65-year-old told The Insider. ‘I got a first text, and I was like, “Why is this person saying congratulations?”
