Blue Line Sandwich Company Closes CBD Location After a Year and a Half

Eater New Orleans

The pre-summer closures begin

After just a year and a half at 514 S. Rampart Street in the CBD, sandwich and salad hub Blue Line Sandwich Company has closed, effective today (May 31).

The 5,000 square foot spot was the second location for the cafe, which first opened in Old Metairie in 2014. According to today’s announcement on Blue Line’s Facebook and Instagram pages, the Old Metairie location will remain open, and the CBD location will remain open for catering services.

To our amazing customers, family, friends. After sincere thought and consideration, we’ve decided to close the seated dining experience at our Downtown New Orleans location. Effective today. The downtown location will still be open for catering services. So if your office or event needs delicious, locally sourced, breakfast and lunches, give us a call. (504) 309-3773 Thank you for your continued patronage and support! The Blue Line Sandwich Co. location in Old Metairie is still open, 100%, and we hope to see you there soon. Thank you for being part of the Blue Line Sandwich Co. family... and for helping to support ours. Brad and Stephanie McGehee

The breakfast and lunch spot is from Ye Olde College Inn alum and locally-sourced ingredient pioneer Bradley McGeehee and his wife Stephanie. The pair expanded the menu at the time of Blue Line’s CBD opening, with offerings ranging from healthy (turkey and sprouts on seven grain) to decadent (cochon de lait, red eye gravy, and two eggs on a biscuit).

The restaurant took over the spot that was formerly Las Margaritas Mexican restaurant, which was open less than two years.
