Mercedes-AMG GT63 lifted to 789bhp by G-Power

As if it wasn't powerful enough in standard form, G-Power has pumped the GT63 to supercar-beating power levels

Affalterbach’s GT63 S is the brand’s most powerful model on sale today, and second only to the wild SL65 Black Series as its most powerful model ever. This hasn’t deterred G-Power from lifting numbers even higher, however, with the German tuner now offering three different tuning packages.

Though it can increase power of any 63 model with the M177 4-litre twin-turbocharged V8, the GT63 is the star of the show. The brand’s most extreme tuning package extracts an additional 159bhp and 74lb ft of torque over standard, bringing total output to 789bhp and 738lb ft of torque – that’s more than the £203,000 Ferrari F8 Tributo.

To achieve the substantial power gain, G-Power includes its GP-800 ECU tune, a pair of uprated turbochargers, more free-flowing downpipes, uprated air filters and its very own stainless steel exhaust system. All of this will set you back around €20,000 (approx. £18,000), and although this may seem a lot, a car of equal power would cost you considerably more…

If this is a little too much for you, however, an ECU tune and downpipes will lift output to 740bhp and 738lb ft of torque, with an ECU tune alone raising power to 690bhp and 701lb ft – the latter will cost you only €2495 (approx. £2252).

Not only will your family saloon produce more power than some of the latest supercars, you’ll also receive better torque delivery, heightened throttle response and, according to G-Power, better fuel economy. Each package has also been ‘extensively tested at high speeds on the autobahn’ to ensure the GT63 can withstand the increased power levels under load.

The tuner will also fit its new 20- or 21-inch Hurricane RR forged wheels to your GT63 to help it stand out from the rest – these will set you back around €8000 (approx. £7200) a set.
