Recently, the photojournalist posted on his Facebook page an incredibly touching post. It tells the story of a poor man who spent many years working as a cleaner, so that his children can get a decent education - something that he never had.
Here is the story of this father, who brings up four daughters, from the first person.
I never told the children about my work, not wanting them to be ashamed of me. When the youngest daughter asked me about my occupation, I always told her that I worked as a handyman.
Before returning home, every day I showered in public toilets, so my children did not even know about my real work. I dreamed of sending all my daughters to school so that they would learn and get a decent profession.
I did everything in my power so that they could live with dignity. I really did not want anyone to look at them the same way as they did to me ... People always humiliated me. I put all my money into the education of daughters. I could never buy myself a new shirt, because I spent everything I earned on school textbooks.
I was the cleaner.
On the eve of the last date of admission to college my eldest daughter, I was not able to raise enough money for the entrance fee. That day I could not work. I just sat next to a pile of rubbish, trying to hide my tears. All my colleagues looked at me with sympathy, but none of them tried to talk to me. I tried very hard, but failed, so I felt heartbroken.
I had no idea what I would say to my daughter when she asked me about the entrance fee. I was born in poverty, but I always dreamed of a better life for my children. And now my dreams were not destined to be fulfilled ...
After work, all the cleaners I worked with came up to me. They sat next to me and asked me if I consider them my brothers. Before I could at least say something, my colleagues gave me all my income in one day. When I tried to refuse, they said: "If necessary, we will starve today, but our daughter must go to college!" I could not refuse them.
That day, I did not take a shower for the first time, but returned to my house like a cleaner ...
My oldest daughter will soon finish university. She already has a part-time job, which allows you to pay for the training of the other three daughters. Children no longer allow me to work. But several times a week my oldest daughter comes with me to where I used to work, and feeds all my former colleagues with lunch.
They laugh and ask her why she feeds them so often. My daughter answers them: "That day you all starved, so that I could become what I am today. Now pray for me so that I can feed you all every day! "
At the moment I do not feel like a poor person. He who has such children can not be poor!
This simple man, who has done so much for his daughters, can serve as a good example for all of us. Do not forget about the sacrifices that our parents sometimes have to make in order to provide us with a better future!
Have you thanked your parents for a long time?
