A lady who had gone on board Emirates airplane together with her man was kicked off the flight after she was heard complaining of health difficulties, a report said.
24-year-old Beth Evans, and Joshua Moran, 26, were on their way to Dubai. They were at Birmingham airport aboard the plane when they were asked to leave the flight. According to the couple, flight crew overheard Beth while she complained about having period pain which led to her being questioned by a female crew.
It was then decided by the flight officials that the 24-year-old lady needed assessment medically before she would be allowed to start her journey. For the fact that a doctor was not available at the time, the couple was compelled to go off the plane.
Joshua later told a reporter that to be thrown out of a flight because of period pains was ‘madness’. He explained that his partner was really upset when she was being quizzed by the crew. Beth had wanted to fly because she thought the pain was just one out of many but the staff of the airline believed her case could worsen in the course of the journey.
Emirates airline authorities have however recounted what happened from their own viewpoint. According the spokesman, the lady had alerted the crew that she was ‘feeling unwell’, therefore the captain made the decision to suggest medical attention for Beth Evans. ‘We would not have wanted to endanger Ms Evans by delaying medical help had she worsened during the flight,’ he explained.
