A teenage boy from Brazil nearly lost his life after he jumped off a bridge in an attempt to commit suicide. This incident took place after he left a cryptic message on Facebook concerning what he had planned to do to himself.
17-year-old Lucas Oliver had climbed a 6-meter high bridge at Fazenda Rio Grande and jumped backwards on Tuesday morning. He is presently in critical condition in an intensive care unit.
The incident was captured on camera. In the footage, the teenage boy was seen walking along the bridge while officers tried to talk him out of what he had intended to do.
The situation was almost brought under control, but then passersby began to mock him. The taunts from some people apparently pushed the boy to take the plunge.
The Fire Brigade Sergeant, who was at the scene, later revealed that the people began to shout, ‘pula pula does not have courage,’ and at that instance the boy threw himself down.
