10. BLAKE LIVELY AND RYAN REYNOLDS
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds might be one of the most visible vanilla couples in the entertainment industry now, but that doesn't mean that the early stages of their relationship didn't have some pretty sketchy elements to them. First off, Blake and Ryan supposedly first started to have feelings for each other when they met on a double date... except each of them were dating someone else at the time of their double date. And while their chemistry together was apparently immediate and irresistible, they caught heat for their decision to get married and celebrate their eternal unity at a former slave plantation in South Carolina. The location not only features eight original "slave cabins," but actually sits on a street that is aptly but horrifyingly named Slave Street. When the couple shared their apparently racist theme for their wedding people were understandably a little miffed, but the pair managed to skate by that scandal fairly quickly.
9. KANYE WEST AND KIM KARDASHIAN
After Kim Kardashian's well documented difficulties with the pregnancies for daughter North and son Saint, it was not an enormous surprise when Kim and husband Kanye West announced that they would be having a third child via a surrogate. However the couple's baby news started making some serious waves when it was revealed that the pair, who are worth an estimated $335 million dollars together, were only paying their surrogate less than $100,000 total to carry their child. Not only that, but reportedly the surrogate wasn't even aware that she was carrying Kim and Kanye's child when the surrogacy first began, and Kim only decided to come forward and meet the surrogate face to face in case she wasn't a fan of Kim or Kanye. And while the low pay for such a big job does seem like a bit of a shock, there are actually some heated debates about how much surrogates can be paid or whether or not they should be paid at all.
8. CHRISSY TEIGEN AND JOHN LEGEND
In one of the weirdest celebrity couple scandals that managed to make this list, lovey-dovey married couple John Legend and Chrissy Teigen were linked to the Pizzagate incident by some right wing "investigative journalists." For those of you who are unfamiliar with Pizzagate, it was a right wing conspiracy theory that a Washington DC pizza place was actually a front for a child trafficking ring, and it went from nutty to tragic when an extremist went to the restaurant and started opening fire because of the "theory." The insanity was most closely linked to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, but when Hillary supporters Legend and Teigen dressed up their daughter Luna as Alice in Wonderland a professional nut job by the name of Liz Conkin alleged that it was some sort of signal in their involvement in Pizzagate. After threatening a lawsuit Conkin backed off of her claims, but it is still a profoundly disturbing situation for the couple to be dragged into.
7. PRINCE HARRY AND MEGHAN MARKLE
Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle seem absolutely over the moon about their relationship and impending marriage, but that doesn't mean that getting there was easy or went off without a hitch. While the royal family has had to evolve with the times, Markle was a controversial match for the prince for a few different reasons, and her incorporation into the British royal family is truly unprecedented. Of course the fact that she's not English is a bit of a sticking point, but she has also been married before and divorced (which used to be such a scandal that it warranted abdication from the line to the throne), and she's biracial. Markle being half black seemed to exposed a very ugly underbelly to UK society, both in general and within the British upper crust, and Harry has publicly expressed his upset at the poor treatment of his future wife.
6. GISELE BÜNDCHEN AND TOM BRADY
Football player Tom Brady and Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen seem like a picture perfect match, but the progression of their relationship certainly wasn't as picture-perfect as the couple might want the world to believe. Gisele says that she was head over heels for the quarterback almost as soon as they started dating, but things almost immediately hit the skids when it was revealed that Tom's previous ex-girlfriend, actress Bridget Moynahan, was pregnant with Brady's first child. Gisele reportedly considered ditching Brady and their relationship when she found out about the pregnancy, but in the end Tom's willingness to ditch his pregnant girlfriend wasn't enough to put Bündchen off for good. It would seem that Gisele and Tom have had a relatively smooth go of it since, but immediately moving on from your pregnant ex with one of the most beautiful women in the world is definitely not the wholesome look that the Brady clan tries to play off.
5. ADAM LEVINE AND BEHATI PRINSLOO
Musician Adam Levine and his model wife Behati Prinsloo recently welcomed their second child, and their entire marriage has apparently been smooth sailing. However, their overall relationship has definitely hit its rough patches. Levine and Prinsloo actually first got together in 2012, but Adam and Behati broke up in 2013 and Adam was almost immediately spotted canoodling with Danish model Nina Agdal. Then as quickly as that hookup happened it was apparently over, because mere months after Adam was spotted with Nina he and Prinsloo not only announced that they had gotten back together, but that they were actually engaged! And while it looks like their relationship has been pretty solid since those rough patches, it's still hard to know how stable a couple can be after going through that kind of instability. And the couple reportedly got matching tattoos after their wedding, which is often a really bad sign for relationships.
4. CARDI B AND OFFSET
Cardi B and Offset seem like a couple that should still be in the honeymoon phase of their relationship, but they have already been mired in scandal and have both alluded to or straight out admitted that they've both made some serious transgressions against each other. The drama started when Offset's iCloud was hacked and pictures of the rapper with another woman were released, and once the scandal became big news many people started questioning why Cardi was sticking by her man, and when she was spotted without her engagement ring some started questioning whether or not she was actually even sticking by him at all. But Cardi's response to Offset's infidelity was surprising. She said that she knew she could get any man that she wanted, but he was the one that she wanted, and interestingly she said that while the public knows about the bad things he's done they don't know about the bad things she has done.
3. KYLIE JENNER AND TRAVIS SCOTT
Kylie Jenner, Travis Scott, and their new baby Stormi seem to be about as loved up as a new family can be, or at least that's what they like to portray on their social media accounts. However, many people seem quick to forget that this young couple not only decided to start their family exceptionally young, but also exceptionally soon after they started dating. Like, within a matter of weeks. And while young people aren't known for possessing the best judgment or long term planning skills, given the enormous amount that the pair have taken on to their plates it seems unlikely that they're a couple who's built to last.
