Channing and Jenna Tatum pretty much blew all our minds a few days ago when they announced their split. It was honestly one of the last couples that we would ever have thought would split. We’ve been in love with this couple for years because they made us believe in true love. They gushed about each other non-stop and the two of them were seriously steamy together. What could have gone wrong?
It’s situations like this that remind us that we are dealing with actors. If they are able to get on the big screen and make us believe in their movies then surely, they can make us believe that their marriage is whatever they say it is.
People out there are speculating about what it was that went wrong in the marriage. Despite rumors that Jenna was sick of his flirting and boozing, she went on record to say that none of those rumors are true. "Happy to clarify that absolutely none of these rumors are true. The reason our statement was so positive was because that’s the reality of the situation," her rep told Mail Online. Even through a divorce, they manage to have each other’s back. So, why are they breaking up? That might be something that we’ll never know. They sure had us all fooled because up until very recently they were posting adorable pictures on social media. 10. THEY ALWAYS SEEMED TO HAVE FUN TOGETHER
Right from the beginning, we saw this fun-loving couple, loving each moment they had together. Right from the get-go, we knew that these two belonged together because they had the kind of chemistry that soulmates should have. Their cute posts about each other were always screaming #relationshipgoals. This photo is a great example if posts they make regularly about each other. Does this look like a couple on the brink of separation? We didn’t think so either. They have said that the one surefire way to survive Hollywood is to take lots of backseat selfies and make silly faces. It’s the silly chemistry that they had regularly that make us wonder why they would want to throw it all away. They always seemed to be each other’s number-one fan. This is one couple we are really going to miss.
9. CHANNING RESPONDS TO A BABY PHOTO WITH LOVE
Seriously, more often than not, it’s Channing that is gushing about his wife. We have no idea whose decision it was to call it quits, but we know that Channing showed an awful lot of love in his posts and we would hate to think it was all fake. He posted this photo of his wife after she had their child and it seriously tugged at our heartstrings. He posted this caption with the photo:
“I took this just days after Jenna and I (mostly Jenna) brought our little girl into the world. I've taken many like it over the past 3 years but this is one of my favorites. She was so tired. Haha. But she has such deep strength and other-worldly grace.
Watching her in those first days transform into a mother was life changing. She was every bit the beautiful, funny, flawed creature I fell in love with. But the prism turned and showed a whole new light that I had no idea existed, the light of a mother’s love. Thank you for that baby.”
8. A TRIP TO DISNEYLAND
This was another photo that was taken in December when the couple took their family to Disneyland. Most couples that were on the brink of separation wouldn’t want their spouse touching them. They would have become distanced and never mind all the reasons why they decided to get divorced in the first place. So, it’s surprising to see Channing Tatum embracing his wife in a very personal and protective way. It’s just one of the many photos that we have seen over the year that has us scratching our heads.
They may have wanted to get one last family trip in before they announced their separation since it was taken in December, and maybe it was a time that was filled with bittersweet moments.
We definitely had no idea that this was coming and the two put on a good show for as long as they needed to.
7. CHANNING'S ADVICE
Channing and Jenna loved their dogs and had all the space in the world for them on their 48-acre ranch in Ojai where they also raised their kids in privacy. They would always make an appearance at events, but kept their private life, well, private. When it comes to relationships, Channing always seemed to have words of wisdom.
"Just listen to each other — that's it. There's no magic recipe. Every two unique snowflakes that meet are going to have a different combination or equation."
We're not sure if these two stopped listening to each other or just started to grow apart, but here's hoping they'll at least remain friends.
6. THAT TIME SHE DANCE FOR HIM
Jenna showed off her foxy side during a lip sync battle against her husband Channing Tatum and she probably ensured that every guy in the world thought she was wife material. She showed off her dance moves on Lip Sync Battle giving the audience a Magic Mike-inspired lap dance. Channing Tatum was the lucky receiver of the dance and every guy in the world was probably jealous of him. Jenna’s a gorgeous woman who doesn’t look her age because she has a body that most 20-year-old’s would dream about. When you have a foxy woman like this at home who claims, “We lap dance every night,” how could the marriage ever fall apart? It was pretty obvious that Channing loved every minute of the routine.
5. A COUPLE THAT LOOKS SERIOUSLY IN LOVE
It’s really hard to believe that this couple has decided that they aren’t going to be together anymore. When you look at these photos from December 2017, it’s hard to believe that this isn’t a couple who is madly in love with each other. It’s crazy. Look how happy Jenna looks as she is laughing beside her husband. If someone were to tell us that they were going to announce their separation, we would have laughed about it. It just doesn’t seem plausible. The two have always looked as if they adored each other. So, what could have gone wrong? We're sure will find out the truth in the coming months. If there is another party involved, that is sure to come out eventually.
4. WHEN THEY CELEBRATED TEN YEARS SINCE "STEP UP"
These two met on the set of Step Up and we’ve all swooned at one time or another over the story. The fact that they flirted and fell in love while making the movie. It was love at first sight and they have been together ever since. We thought for sure that they would be one of the couples that made it. They posted this picture on Instagram to commemorate ten years since making the movie together and it made us envy the love that they had together. We can’t believe that either of them is willing to walk away from such a love story. They showed off their dance moves, doing a scene from the movie and proved that they still had the same chemistry after all these years.
3. HE COULDN’T TAKE HIS EYES OFF JENNA
When the couple arrived at the premiere of Hail Caesar, they were all over one another. She went there to support his movie and it seemed that it was her that he couldn’t keep his eyes off of. Many people commented on this photo that showed just how proud Channing was of his wife. Regardless of what’s going on, there’s no doubt about it, Channing adored his wife and we feel bad that they are in this situation.
There is a clear difference between Channing and Tatum's Instagram accounts and we have to wonder if that’s a sign all on its own.
While he was still posting photos of them together in the last 4 months, she hasn't been posting any pics of them two for some time. Maybe we were given red flags over the past year. We’re not sure what’s going to happen in the future, but we hope the both of them can find happiness after such an epic love affair.
2. THEY WERE ALWAYS SO INTO EACH OTHER
There was one thing about these two and that was that they definitely enjoyed looking at each other. They are both very attractive people and it must hurt just a little when they think about their partner being with someone else. That’s inevitable though now that they are separating, it’s likely that two beautiful people will find other people to date. It’s possible that Jenna no longer found her marriage to be a great fit. She told Health,
"I think there are such things as great fits. It is a great fit as long as you are growing together, and I think up until this point we've really grown together. Even if one starts to grow, the other catches up and vice versa. But I think a couple needs to be conscious and to want to do the work and be willing to look at the parts of you that need work.
Both of us have been pretty aware and willing to do that. We've always had the same values. But we're not perfect! Are you kidding? We fight like other couples, we disagree about things, we have days where we don't really like each other."
1. JENNA LOOKS ADORINGLY AT HER HUSBAND
Seriously, when someone looks at you like this, it usually means that they think you are everything. This isn’t even a photo that’s very old. The couple was at the 5th Annual Celebration of Dance Gala last April, so just a year ago. How do you go from adoring your husband to not wanting to be with him at all? Jenna definitely believed in making time for her partner but the couple was insanely busy and maybe that was what went wrong. "A lot of people ask me that. We have not yet scheduled intimacy, but we do schedule time together, so maybe that is sort of scheduling intimacy.
We will go away for a weekend to get time, but we have no real regimented schedule. I have friends who do this; it's on the calendar.
We've never done that — it might actually be a good idea."
