As parents of young babies, we spend our days (and nights) holding their tiny hands, staring into their innocent faces, and cuddling their warm bodies - the miracle of life is certainly overwhelming!
Providing our children with a great deal of love, attention, and closeness is critical. Because as we know, and as research has shown, these are the things that help them grow into secure, confident, healthy adults.
Diane Ackerman, an American poet, once said,
"Touch seems to be as essential as sunlight."
One super dad not only adjusts the patients (young and old) who come through the front door of his chiropractic office, but he has also "adjusted" his work environment to meet the needs of his newborn son, too.
Dr. Tom Williams has always been loved for his calm demeanor, loving personality, and healing touch - and now, he's admired for his heart-melting and attentive daddy skills, too!
Tom and his wife Lauren work alongside one another at their chiropractic business in Chicago - Tom as the chiropractor, and Lauren as the office manager.
As for anyone who owns their own practice, life was certainly full for this couple. However, once Lauren gave birth to their son, Oliver - things became even that much busier for the Williams family.
In order to continue to run the business while also caring for their young infant, Tom and Lauren made the decision to bring baby Oliver to work with them a few days a week.
And, this infant doesn't just sit on the sidelines while at work with his parents, he's right in the game with Dad!
If you look closely at the picture below, of Tom working with one of his young patients, you'll notice a small bump on the front of his chest - say hello to little 9-week-old Oliver!
This talented doctor not only provides his patients with the healing power of touch, but he does so while also giving his newborn baby the love, closeness, and attention he needs, as well.
Tom shared with ABC News,
"The [patients] that we attract are very open and excited to see our family grow and were excited when Oliver came."
He went on to say,
"The kids are thrilled to see him ... the parents are as well because they can really connect."
Dr. Williams is without-a-doubt a "hands on" kind of doctor, and father!
And those who know Dr. Williams just think the world of his "Oliver involving" decision.
Genia Rackos, the mother of two of Tom's young patients, shared with ABC News,
"Just seeing Dr. Tom, he's such a calm doctor and such a loving person and I thought he was going to take the baby off, but he said, 'Nope the baby's sleeping' and started adjusting all of us."
Genia then continued,
"I think he shows a really good example of what work-life balance is. He wears his baby with pride and it stands for everything he's about."
Tom and Lauren have created an inclusive, family-friendly environment in their chiropractic office - and their story is "touching" the hearts of readers all over the world.
