This is the story of a 10 year old boy and his unlikely friend, a blind deer. Every morning before going to school, this 10 year old escorted this blind deer and walked yards after yards to help her find fresh green grass patches in the neighborhood so she could eat. Since she could not see, this boy took the responsibility to help her feed herself.
This 10 year old’s neighbor took a photo and posted it on Imgur and along with the photo he told the world how he and his wife had seen this happening over the past few days. His wife called their local wildlife rescue groups to help rescue the deer.
Because the rescuers have a vet on board the deer would be taken to a forest preserve and she will be looked after. This way she’d also stay away from traffic. This message instantly went viral and people started talking about this 10 year old boy and the kindness he showed to this blind deer.
A few days later another updated was posted on Imgur stating that the deer was picked up by the responsible people and was taken to a shelter in Illinois. The young boy, his mom and half the neighborhood came to see the deer off.
The boy was sad because he would no longer be walking his deer friend to green grass, but support overflowed for the boy for the kindness he had shown to the blind deer. As for the boy, he had only been doing this for a few days and wasn’t intending on making her his pet so chances are, his heart would heal. The boy said that he wanted the deer to be okay and he was happy she was rescued.
