IndyCar driver Robert Wickens faces surgery following scary crash at Pocono A scary scene unfolded at an IndyCar Series race Sunday when a multicar crash stopped the event at Pocono Raceway in Pennsylvania. Canadian driver Robert Wickens was attempting to pass Ryan Hunter-Reay, but the two collided. James Hinchcliffe, Takuma Sato and Pietro Fittipaldi were also involved in the crash and multiple drivers were injured. Part of the issue is we have five drivers in here in the aftermath of that crash, IndyCar Vice President of Communications Curt Cavin said. Robert Wickens was awake and alert when he came here and hes being transported to LeHigh Valley Cedarcrest hospital in Allentown for evaluation. Well have more updates later.
