Kevin Sumlin blames ankle injury for Khalil Tates issues Arizona Wildcats quarterback Khalil Tate is one of the best mobile quarterbacks in the country, but he was a disaster on Saturday. Tate had just three carries for negative five yards and threw two interceptions midway through the third quarter of the Wildcats game against Houston. It was a far cry from the top-tier talent many expected, but coach Kevin Sumlin blamed an injury for limiting Tates effectiveness. Given how badly Sumlin and his staff were being roasted on Twitter for that game plan, the coach was obligated to offer an explanation. It wont quiet the criticism, but it is at least something.
