Raptors GM: ‘I do apologize to DeMar DeRozan’ DeMar DeRozan didnt take his trade to the Spurs particularly well, and according to Raptors GM Masai Ujiri, it may be his fault…somewhat. I had a conversation with DeMar at summer league and I really want to leave it at that, Ujiri said during a press conference to discuss this weeks trade that netted the Raptors Kawhi Leonard. In my job, I always have to assume were going forward with the team that I have. If there was a miscommunication there, I do apologize to DeMar and his family and his representation. Its not what I meant. Ujiri added he had to jump at the opportunity to add a player like Kawhi Leonard, who the GM said wants to play in Toronto, despite conflicting reports. I look forward to meeting with them face to face, and thats our responsibility ... to figure it out and to make them as comfortable as possible. ... Im confident. I think we have a good game plan and well see how that goes.
