Actor Scott Baio's wife has been diagnosed with brain disease.
The troubled former Happy Days star, who is currently battling misconduct and underage sex allegations from two former castmates, has now confirmed his wife Renee is fighting moderate to severe chronic microvascular disease.
Renee, 45, tweeted the news early on Saturday (10Mar18) and Scott followed up with a statement issued to Deadline.
"Unfortunately, this is true," he said. "Renee is forever my rock, my life & my soulmate! Toughest person I know."
Scott explained the former stuntwoman suffered a "massive brain injury" in 1992 when she was involved in a jet ski accident, adding, "We don't know if her tumors and this new disease has anything to do with this.
"All we know is she must live as stress-free, depression-free and anxiety-free as possible and a get good amount of sleep each night. This new disease can cause strokes and dementia."
Renee has been battling brain-related issues for several years and back in 2015, she told People she had been diagnosed with a meningioma brain tumor.
However, pursuing a calm lifestyle may be difficult for Renee, as her husband has been accused of abusing and assaulting actors Alexander Polinsky and Nicole Eggert as minors. Alexander has claimed he was sexually harassed by Scott and "ultimately assaulted by him" between the ages of 12 and 15, when he appeared on TV sitcom Charles in Charge, while Nicole has alleged he sexually harassed and abused her as a minor, beginning at age 14.
The TV veteran previously maintained he did nothing wrong with regards to allegations made by Nicole, and insisted she was 18 when they had consensual sex.
In a recent statement, he said, "For reasons I don't understand I am the victim of false claims that threaten everything precious in my life... Mostly, I'm stunned... I will not let this continue... I will use every ounce of strength I have to fight this."
