Céline Dion and her family marked a major occasion.
On January 25, 2018, Céline’s son René-Charles Angelil celebrated his 17th birthday.
In honor of René-Charles’s big day, Céline took to Instagram to share a sweet photo with him, alongside a birthday wish.
“Happy Birthday RC! I love you more and more each day, and I’m so proud of the young man that you’ve become. Love Mom,” the 49-year-old singer wrote, alongside a picture where the two are dressed formally and Céline has her arm around RC’s shoulders.
Céline’s followers flooded the comments to wish René-Charles a happy birthday and to voice their surprise at just how grown up the young man looks now.
“Wow so handsome, so grown up!” one Instagram user wrote. “A spitting image of your late husband! René lives on! Happy birthday, RC!” another said.
René-Charles is the oldest son of the Grammy-winning singer and her late husband, René Angélil, who also shared 7-year-old twins Eddy and Nelson. René sadly passed away on January 14, 2016 after a long battle with cancer.
The couple’s struggles to have children were highly publicized, and René-Charles was finally conceived via in-vitro fertilization after years of failed attempts to conceive naturally.
