At an event held by Cerebrofort on Thursday (9/8), it was said that forming intelligent children needed support from all things. The support can be in the form of healthy and nutritious intake, as well as the role of parents in directing their children to be more active and have good interactions with their environment.

In addition to nutritious intake, it turns out there are various pillars of children's intelligence that you should pay attention to. Because, whether or not a child is smart depends on the pillars.

Pillar of children's intelligence

At the event organized by Cerebrofort, there were also several speakers who were experts in their respective fields, including Dra. A. Kasandra Putranto as Clinical Psychologist and Founder of Kasandra & Associates, and Dr. Claudia Anggi, Medical Officer at the Kalbe Farma Consumer Health Division.

The speakers explained that children's intelligence is divided into four, namely as follows:

1.Healthy

It was also explained by the World Health Organization that one of the characteristics of intelligent children is to have good physical and mental health. Smart children will certainly be more responsive and always interested in various activities.

2.Care

Care is related to aspects of emotional intelligence. Because according to Kasandra, the success of a child is not only seen from the intellectual aspect, but also other aspects, including social intelligence.

3.Creative

It is said that intelligent is relative. Because in addition to achieving, smart children also have to be creative or can produce something, not just carry out regular commands or routines.

"Smart children must be able and willing to do positive things on their own initiative," explained Kasandra.

4.Dare

This point does not mean that children dare to invite their friends to fight. However, when a child has thoughts or desires for something, he has the courage to convey or do something.

Give your child a healthy and nutritious intake

When questioning children's growth and brain intelligence, Dr. Anggi explained that children's brains play an important role in increasing their intelligence. Therefore, nutrition for the brain is needed in the process of child growth.

"The brain is the fastest growing organ, where when the child is born, the development of the brain has only reached 25 percent, but at the age of 6 years it has grown to 95 percent by weight of the adult brain," said Dr. Anggi.

Therefore, as a parent you should provide nutrition that can support children's intelligence. If in the past there were 4 perfectly healthy 5, now the Minister of Health and WHO have perfected it with the term Balanced Nutrition Pyramid or Balanced Nutrition Tumpeng, with the following composition:

1.Mineral water

As the most needed substance for children, mineral water is located at the bottom of the Balanced Nutrition Tumpeng. You have to make sure your child's daily fluid intake needs are met, which is about 8 glasses a day.

2.Complex carbohydrates

Enough your carbohydrate intake with complex carbohydrates like wheat and nuts. You can give the Little Peanut or as one of the healthy snack menus.

3.Vegetable and fruit

Children are highly recommended to consume 3-5 servings of vegetables and 2-3 servings of fruit each day to meet the intake of vitamins and minerals. Vegetables and fruit must be consumed in the morning, afternoon and evening. So, from now on, try to replace the Little Sweet snack in the form of a cake or candy with fruits that are obviously healthier.

4.Animal and vegetable protein

Protein is needed by the child as a building agent. Meet the daily protein needs of children by serving a variety of healthy menus containing animal and vegetable proteins such as tempeh, fish, tofu, or spinach.

5.Reduce sugar, salt and oil

Change the cooking method that was previously fried, to be steamed or boiled. Presented by Dr. Anggi that cooking oil is able to bind umami on the tongue, so that the food consumed feels more delicious. But actually a healthier cooking method is steaming or boiling.
