An undocumented Malian youth climbed the facade of a building with balconies in Paris to help a four-year-old boy, suspended in a vacuum, reported on Sunday different sources who said that the father of the child was arrested by the police.

The event, spectacular, recorded and disseminated by social networks, shows a young man climbing by hand clean and in thirty seconds four balconies of the facade of a building to reach the fourth floor, recover the child suspended and put him safely.

"Luckily there was someone with good physical condition and courage to go find the child," the firefighters said.

The boy and the young man were taken to a hospital for routine checks.

"The rescuer complained about his knee and the child were in shock," the firefighters said, adding that both are well.

The deputy mayor of the city of Paris, Ian Brossat, said that the young man who rescued the boy is an undocumented Malian.

"The young man who saved a baby (...) climbing three floors has no documentation and arrived from Mali in September. Notice to those who spit on migrants daily. Thank you Mamudu Gasama, "the deputy mayor in charge of housing issues tweeted.

Shortly before, the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, had congratulated the young man. "A big bravo to Mamudu Gasama for his brave act that saved the life of a child last night. I had the pleasure of speaking with him today on the phone, "he wrote on Twitter.

Presented by the French press as a hero, Mamudu Gasama told the BFMTV channel that "he saw many people shouting, and car horns."

"I left, I ran to look at the solutions to save it. I managed to grab a balcony, I went up like this and thank God I saved it, "he said.

After the facts, the father of the child was placed in provisional detention because an investigation was initiated for "subtraction of parental obligations," said a judicial source.
