In a nutshell, I let the girl I'm seeing borrow my car to go to her parents to help out with her kid for the night, and when I went over that night my car wasn't there. Here is the story:
So, first, a little background: I've known this girl for many years but have just started seeing her a couple of months ago. However, she says she's not ready to be my actual girlfriend yet, even though she was the one who initially said she liked me and wanted us to start seeing each other. She sleeps over at my place all the time and says I'm the only person she sees but just needs some time to get a few things handled with her life before she would be ready to settle down and be in an actual relationship with me. She has a young daughter whom her parents watch most of the time but she goes to their house to help with the kid a lot also. She doesn't have a car and so I let her borrow mine sometimes such as when I'm at work and she needs to do things.
So now on to what happened. One night she was at my place and said she needed to go home to help out with her kid for the night, so I let her borrow my car and she would just come back in the morning rather then me dropping her off there that night.
Well, later that night, around 1 in the morning actually, I got a bad feeling for some reason and just had to make sure she was actually at her parents. They live only a mile or so away, so I walked over to see if the car was parked outside. Well, it wasn't. Neither was her dad's car which I figured would be in the garage. I should have just left but I had to make sure so I checked the garage and sure enough her dad's car was there and my car was nowhere to be seen and I even checked up and down the street. I went back later around 530 and my car still wasn't there.
The next day I confronted her about this saying that I left something in my car that I needed which is why I walked over there. She completely denies she went anywhere and says that she parked my car in the garage which is why I didn't see it. I told her that if my car was in the garage then her dads would have been on the street, which it wasn't. She insists that it was and that there is no way I couldn't have seen it. I didn't tell her I looked in the garage but she even said that if she so much as thought that I had looked in the garage then we would not ever be together since that would be so wrong of me to do.
My question is, what should I do about this? Should I just let it go or should I keep on pressing since I know she's lying? I feel like she might have gone to see her ex boyfriend, which would just kill me and destroy any trust I could ever have with her. Obviously she went somewhere and doesn't want to tell me, which still hurts my trust, but if I continue to pry then it will cause so much fighting that I know it will ruin any chance of a future relationship. I do care about her and have seen her in relationships with people whom she hated but she still wouldn't cheat on them even with the person she liked and ended up dating later. So, I do know she is faithful when in a relationship and I will feel much more comfortable when we are actually in a relationship, but since I'm not technically her boyfriend I don't know if she would hook up with someone else right now. What do ya'll think? What should I do?!
