At the beginning of the year, Tim McGraw released a song that has since taken country music by storm. Called “Humble and Kind,” the inspirational tune was written singularly by respected Nashville songwriter Lori McKenna.
“Humble and Kind” was a number one country hit, and also crossed over to the Adult Contemporary chart, where it peaked in the 13th position. The song, and its accompanying music video, have been nominated for many awards since, and the CMAs were no exception. In fact, McKenna took home the CMA Award for Song of the Year when the awards aired on Wednesday night (November 2).
Following McKenna’s big win, McGraw took to the stage to perform the song. He had a bit of help, as he welcomed students from the Christ Presbyterian Academy to join him.Just like every time he’s performed the song in the past, McGraw poured all of his energy into his delivery. As a result, he ended up creating an emotional, moving performance that spoke straight to our hearts.
