5. DREW BARRYMORE DOESN'T LET ANYTHING KEEP HER DOWN
Drew was a child star. Child stars grow up too fast. They are exposed to temptation before they should be. Also, they often have "stage parents" who push them too hard. When Drew was just a girl, she was photographed partying with her Mom, Jaid. Drew should have been at home, watching cartoons or baking cupcakes. Instead, she was involved with big-city nightlife and everything that comes along with it.
Her childhood led to issues that she had to overcome. I'm glad that Drew was tough enough to move past her problems and become her best self.
In 2016, Drew was sad because of her divorce. She said that she "cried for a year". She used to be married to Will Kopelman, and they have two kids together, named Olive and Frankie. Both children are girls and they are adorable. Drew, who has starred in action flicks such as Charlie's Angels, as well as dramas and comedies galore, seems to be loving motherhood. She spends a lot of time with her girls, takes them to museums and art galleries and provides with the sort of stable home environment that she didn't have when she was a girl. Drew was tough enough to get over her pain from the divorce and put her two girls first.
Some of Drew's male co-stars, including Adam Sandler, have had a tough time staying relevant. Drew is still out there in the public eye. Her Netflix show, Santa Clarita Diet, is the perfect showcase for her enduring talent.
4. UMA THURMAN WASN'T AFRAID TO TELL THE TRUTH
In Hollywood, women often get mistreated. The #metoo movement showed just how troubled Hollywood is and the #metoo movement is also helping to turn things around. Uma is doing her part for the important #metoo movement by speaking out about her experiences with Harvey Weinstein and Quentin Tarantino.
Uma was another lady who had to fight off the advances of Weinstein, who was then one of the most important and powerful people in Hollywood. She also had to deal with neck and knee injuries from an accident on the set of Kill Bill. The knee injuries are permanent.
Uma didn't want to do the driving scene for Kill Bill, because a member of the film crew told her that the vintage auto that she would have to drive wasn't safe. Her pleas were ignored and she had a car accident while filming the scene on a dirt road. After the accident, she tried to expose the situation, because she felt that she shouldn't have been made to do the scene against her will. She was discouraged from doing so.
Now that Uma, who was so fierce during her fight scenes in Kill Bill, has spoken her truth, she probably feels a sense of peace. Bottling up negative emotions for so long isn't healthy. Plus, some people just shouldn't be protected. When they are protected, the bad things that they do continue to happen.
3. ROSE MCGOWAN IS TOTALLY FEARLESS
Rose is one of the figureheads of the #metoo movement. Her issues with Harvey Weinstein are common knowledge.
This actress polarizes people. Some people love her and some give her a whole lot of hate online. Whether they love her or hate her, they can't deny that she is a strong woman. She's committed to empowering women by sharing truths about what goes on behind the scenes in Hollywood. She's one of the reasons why there is a big tribe behind the #metoo hashtag. Many members of the tribe are celebrities, just like Rose McGowan.
Rose has done some edgy parts, including a role in Grindhouse, which was directed by Robert Rodriguez. According to Variety.com, the director of Grindhouse blames Harvey Weinstein (Rose is one of Weinstein's most vocal accusers) of failing to do sufficient promotion for Grindhouse when it was released.
Rodriguez thinks Weinstein was trying to make the movie tank because Rose McGowan was involved in the project. McGowan and Rodriguez were romantically involved for three years.
2. EVAN RACHEL WOOD IS A BLACK BELT IN TAE KWON DO
Evan Rachel Wood has appeared in some great films, including "The Wrestler" and "Across the Universe". Her career took off after she scored a part in the edgy flick, "Thirteen". Evan earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do at age 12. She loves martial arts. Plus, she was tough enough to survive a relationship with Marilyn Manson.
Evan got some hate because a lot of people believed she was the "homewrecker" in Marilyn Manson's marriage to burlesque star, Dita von Teese. Dita is very popular and many people thought that she and Marilyn Manson were a perfect match. According to the Femalefirst.co.uk website, Evan doesn't like being described as a homewrecker. She fights back by talking about how "important" her romance with Manson (born Brian Warner) was. This lady is not afraid to speak her mind. However, Dita von Teese did cite the "inappropriate relationship" between her husband and another lady as the reason for her divorce.
Evan was also involved with "Billy Elliot" star, Jamie Bell and it's safe to say that she could destroy him in physical combat. Bell might beat her in a dance-off. She was married to Jamie for just nineteen months and they have a son. Jamie is currently married to Kate Mara from House of Cards.
1. KRISTEN STEWART LIVES LIFE HER OWN WAY
Kristen Stewart was chosen to play Bella in Twilight and her looks probably factored into that casting decision. She is beautiful, with a delicate look. She's got the Snow White beauty that is so rare, which worked out since she had gone on to play that character too. However, Kristen isn't just a pretty woman. She's a strong lady who isn't afraid to take chances in her career and personal life.
Her beauty does have an impact, though, and that's why she became the muse of Chanel designer, Karl Lagerfeld, who features her in ad campaigns for his high fashion brand. This successful millennial is iconic thanks to Twilight and she's helped to give the Chanel fashion house a younger, hipper image. Kristen has also modeled for Balenciaga.
Kristen got some shade online when she was rumored to have been in a relationship with a man while she was with Robert Pattinson. Right now, she's involved with a VS angel called Stella Maxwell. Stella walked the Chanel runway just days ago and Kristen was there on the sidelines, cheering her on, according to a Daily Mail report. Kristen is 28 and her girlfriend is one year younger.
Kristen seems detached from a lot of Hollywood BS. She tends to dress very casually in real life and she isn't afraid to cut her hair dramatically short or change her image in other ways. She's not obsessed with keeping the Twilight look and image forever. In fact, she seemed desperate to get away from all of that.
