It's hard to raise a kid on your own. Splitting chores and duties is integral to one household. However, statistics show that the number of single moms who raise kids on their own has skyrocketed especially for children aged under 18.

According to the US census, 80.6% of single parents are actually women. So what happens to single moms during those days when children bring their father to school and take part in fun activities? A woman called Whitney had a solution.

"I made a promise to myself that I would do anything I could, even if it meant going out of my comfort zone, to give my kids a 'normal' life and the same experiences as other kids,'' Basically it means that she will do whatever it takes to ensure both of her kids are not robbed of any experiences which are usually taught by the father.
5. But Kittrell Was Shocked When Her Son Brought Home an Invitation from School for an Event
Arrowhead Elementary in Santa Clara, UT, organized an event called 'Dads and Doughnuts Day.' The school wasn't aware that Lucas doesn't have a father so his mom was quite vexed with the whole thing.
6. He Kids Disliked Her First Suggestion
Kittrell had a talk with her boy and offered him to be escorted by his grandfather. Surprisingly, the boy refused. She had to think of something else.
7. Lucas Wanted His Mom to Go with Him
Lucas exclusively wanted his Mum to go since he felt like she was doing the work of moms and dads combined. He said: "I want you to go. You're my mom and dad."
8. So Her Next Solution Was Genius
She took a marker and drew some facial hair on her face, and she put on some clothes for men. Lucas couldn't wait to go with her to 'Dads and Doughnuts Day'!
9. They Had a Great Time
This is what she wrote on her Facebook page regarding the hardships brought by the event "I was so embarrassed, but I couldn't help but smile when he introduced me to his little friends saying 'this is my mom... she's my dad too so I brought her."
10. Whitney Still Has a Long Road Ahead of Her, but She Will Not Give Up
"When I went to leave he ran after me and hugged me tight around my neck and whispered 'mom... I know that you'll always be there and do anything for me. Thank you. I love you,' kissed my cheek and ran off," she stated. Her post went viral and received many supportive comments!
