AUSTIN, Texas —

Right when Texas Governor, Greg Abbott contemplates a special session, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Mark Zuckerberg, along with other 12 lead executives in technology are taking a stand against some Texas laws that they argue "are discriminatory".

In a letter sent to Gov. Gregg Abbot, the 14 CEO's challenged Texas’ “bathroom bill”, a proposed legislature would require Texans use the bathroom corresponding to the sex on their birth certificates.

The heads of Facebook, Apple, Microsoft Corp., Facebook, and Dell technologies, stated in the letter "as large employers in the state, we are gravely concerned that any such legislation would deeply tarnish Texas’ reputation as open and friendly to businesses and families".

They further continued saying "discrimination is wrong and it has no place in Texas or anywhere in our country. Our perspective is grounded in our values and our long-held commitment to diversity and inclusion," and urged the legislature not to pursue "laws of this kind".
