EL PASO, Texas —
Police officers are searching for a burglary suspect who was armed with a gun in far east El Paso.
Police tweeted about the incident just before 4 p.m., saying it happened near Tierra Rica and Tierra Este roads.
A four-block perimeter was set up in the area as officers searched for the suspect.
A spokesperson with the El Paso Police Department said they were initially looking for two men. One of those men was caught.
The burglary suspect allegedly pulled a gun on officers during a foot pursuit, police said. Officers recovered the gun after the suspect dropped it.
He is described as Hispanic and about 20 years old, according to police.
K9 units and a bloodhound helped with the search as well as a Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter.
By 6 p.m., police said they were unable to locate the suspect and cleared the scene.
