Woman’s ‘Disturbing’ Photos With Child Instantly Lands Her In Hot Water

There are many moments to capture in photos and save for all posterity, but one woman’s keepsake imagery didn’t sit too well with others who saw what she was trying to produce and immediately shut her down. Now, this mother is claiming she was inappropriately targeted by irrational perceptions, and you’ll likely agree with her stance on her “perverse” photography.

Iris Litteiro is a new mom from Dover, New Hampshire, who wanted to capture what she regarded as the most special accomplishment of her life as a mother so far. She hired photographer Jennifer Luna, who snapped shots of every sweet angle of this mother feeding her baby as nature intended. Litterio was celebrating having far surpassed her original commitment to breastfeed her infant for six weeks, making it all the way to 14 months instead. But when the photographer went to print the pictures at Walmart, the employee refused to give them to her, demanding that the nudity in the shots was against store policy, regardless of what she’s doing in them.

The photos were taken of Litteiro for a Dover public breastfeeding event, The Big Latch On, during National Breastfeeding week. Luna, a mother herself, had taken many snapshots like Litteriro’s before, getting them developed at Walmart without issue, but this time was much different. “He told me repeatedly it doesn’t matter the reasoning, it’s against company policy,” the photographer told her local news station.

Litteiro was floored by the employee’s reaction, along with the fact that he kept the pictures, saying he couldn’t even give them to Luna. This experience is one of the reasons why there needs to be a National Breastfeeding Week, to bring acceptance of the natural practice in public. People don’t seem to have an issue with women dressing grossly provocative, taking selfies that show their cleavage and getting these pictures developed at Walmart. But a mother feeding her child is considered inappropriate and makes ignorant people uncomfortable.

The more women are shamed for breastfeeding, the less they will choose to nourish their child this way, and that is the true tragedy of this. There are plenty of times when mothers are out and need to feed, and this is the easiest, most healthy way to do it. The photos were taken simply to commemorate this mother’s accomplishment, along with the beautiful bond she has with her baby girl. The employee took a nudity policy too far, adding his own opinion to a practice that apparently makes him feel uncomfortable.
