Mom Walks In On What Toddler Son Is Doing To Brother, Then Sees Boyfriend

While a Missouri mother was at work, she left her two young sons back at her trailer with her boyfriend. When she came home, the mom walked in on an alarming scene, and she couldn’t believe what her toddler son was doing to his brother. Then, she looked at her man in horror upon realizing what he had done.

On Sunday, the two toddlers, the youngest of which is just a year old, were left in the care of 27-year-old Ryan Cody Smith, who their mother apparently felt was a good person to watch her boys. After being gone all day at work, she didn’t realize what had taken place in her absence until it was too late.

The mother, who was not named, walked through the front door of her mobile home in the town of Belton, utterly horrified by the possessed actions of her 1-year-old. The toddler was gnawing on his older brother, biting him repeatedly, before ravaging the kitchen and gorging on cookies like a rabid animal. After shoving the food in his face, he immediately started gagging himself with his fingers, WDAF reported. Meanwhile, Smith was nearby, not realizing what was going on.

Terrified about what had come over her child, the mother rushed her baby to Children’s Mercy Hospital for evaluation, while her man stayed back at the residence. It was quickly determined that the toddler was high on meth, and his behavior indicated such. A lab test quickly proved that to be the case when it was positive for the drug. When police officers went back to the house, Smith had a sickening admission about why the child was high.

The babysitter boyfriend was still at the trailer when police came to search it. They found a clear glass bong in the home that had white residue all over it, a pipe attached to it, and a crystal inside, which was meth. The man admitted to loading the pipe while babysitting the boys, but he couldn’t say for sure how the littlest one consumed the drugs, claiming that he didn’t give it to him intentionally. Smith insisted he would never get the boy high on purpose, saying, “He means the world to me.”

Regardless of how well-meaning he made himself out to be, his sob story wasn’t enough to spare him from arrest. Smith was taken into custody on two charges of endangering the welfare of a child and possession of a controlled substance. He’s being held on $25,000 bail, while the boy remains hospitalized, coming down from his sick drug trip.

Smith is lucky that this toddler didn’t die from his “accidental” high. The boy’s mother is also partly accountable, for having let this guy watch after her kids all day, when there is no way she didn’t know that he was a drug user. No matter how hard it is to be a single parent, there’s no excuse to put your kids in danger for your own convenience or love life. The children are the ones who pay the price, and they don’t deserve to suffer the consequences of a parent’s poor life choices.
