Lambert, Jones lead Lancaster to 4-0 win over San Jose

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) -- Mylz Jones doubled and singled twice, and Peter Lambert struck out 10 hitters over seven innings as the Lancaster JetHawks beat the San Jose Giants 4-0 on Monday.

Lambert (4-5) allowed six hits to get the win.

In the eighth inning, Lancaster took a 3-0 lead after Jones scored on a sacrifice and Brendan Rodgers hit a two-run home run. The JetHawks scored again in the ninth inning when Roberto Ramos hit an RBI double, driving in Brian Mundell.

Mike Connolly (3-5) went eight innings, allowing three runs and seven hits in the California League game. He also struck out six and walked one.

For the Giants, Heath Quinn doubled and singled twice. San Jose was held scoreless for the fourth time this season, while the Lancaster staff recorded its fifth shutout of the year.
