Liddi hits two homers as Tijuana beats Saltillo 13-2

SALTILLO, Mexico (AP) -- Alex Liddi hit a pair of the Tijuana Toros' season-high six home runs in a 13-2 win over the Saraperos de Saltillo in the second game of a doubleheader on Sunday. With the victory, the Toros swept the three-game series.

The home runs by Liddi, both solo shots, came in the fifth off Jorge Ibarra and in the seventh off Juan Gutierrez.

Tijuana starter Victor Castaneda (2-0) picked up the win after scattering five hits over five scoreless innings. Opposing starter Daniel Rodriguez (3-3) took the loss in the Mexican League game after a rough outing in which he allowed five runs and seven hits over 3 1/3 innings.

Max Ramirez reached base four times for the Saraperos.

The Toros swept both games of the doubleheader after winning the first game 5-1. With the win, Tijuana improved to 6-2 against Saltillo this season.
