On April 13, 2018, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey welcomed Kanye West back to his social media platform. Then, everything went to hell.
In less than a month, the legendary rapper and father of three has used Twitter to share his passionate love for Donald Trump, post screenshots of private text conversations with friends, and take plenty of other scream-inducing actions.
After he told TMZ he believes slavery was a choice and revealed his past opioid usage, we thought it was time to look back and chronicle his recent controversial behavior.

April 13: The Beginning
Kanye lives to tweet again.
April 15 - April 18: Easing into the flow
Kanye shares a multitude of personal musings via Twitter including memories with Lamar Odom, tattoo designs, shoe prototypes, and more.
At this point Twitter was still a place for Kanye to share amusing and inspirational one liners such as this gem, which prompted a response from wife Kim Kardashian and family friend Chrissy Teigen.
Kanye also referred to Twitter as his "book," explaining he will work on it when he feels like it. (Spoiler alert: He feels like working on this book every damn day it seems.)
But then, things got a bit more intense...
April 19: Everyone gets an album
Kanye used this exciting Monday to reveal a whole bunch of album dates. He tweeted that he will be releasing an album of seven songs on June 1 and another with Kid Cudi, called "Kids See Ghosts," on June 8.
Then he dropped album dates for Teyana Taylor, Pusha T, and shared a whole bunch of pictures of shoes. Later on, a Nas album was announced.
April 21: Some light religion talk
April 22: Thoughts on freedom of thought and slavery
(Warning: This is not the last time these topics will be discussed.) Kanye also gave a shoutout to Tesla and Elon Musk.
April 25: Doomsday Pt. 1
Today was the day Kanye really rubbed a bunch of fans the wrong way. He began by heavily praising his own company, explaining he makes more money than Michael Jordan, and then giving himself a new and very modest title.
He used a few tweets to call out various media outlets like TMZ and People, shared some photos of his house, and then, without warning, launched into the political rant of all political rants.
Kanye showed serious love for President Trump, referring to him as a brother. Kim told him to chill with the Trump compliments, and instead he did this:
He shared a photo of his signed MAGA hat, got a meeting with Peter Thiel (?) and then INTERACTED WITH TRUMP ON TWITTER.
Donald Trump replied to Kanye's tweet and then Kanye tweeted a photo of an Instagram of that tweet. Is this over yet? NOPE.
Fans of Ye's were outraged by the Trump support, especially when Chance The Rapper tweeted seemingly in agreement. Chance later clarified his tweets in a statement on his twitter.
April 26: Testing John Legend's trust
Kanye tweets screenshots from his text conversations with pal and singer John Legend. Chrissy Teigen is left wondering if the couples are still on for dinner later in the week and reaches out to Kim.
On this day Kanye also spent some time showing love to these New Yorker cartoons.
April 27: Kanye drops a single
Kanye dropped a new song, "Lift Yourself," which turned out to be a poop-filled troll.
April 28: Kanye drops another single and digs up the past
Kanye dropped yet another song, this time a political rap featuring TI called, "Ye Vs. The People." He then proceeded to tweet a photograph of Jan Adams, the plastic surgeon who operated on his mother Donda right before her death.
He also tweeted that Emma Gonzalez, a survivor of the Parkland shooting and prominent student activist, was his hero, and the teen replied by sharing her own hero. (Hint: It wasn’t Kanye.)
April 30: The plastic surgeon speaks
Jan Adams replied to Kanye’s album cover with a cease and desist request and an open letter published online. Kanye seems thankful for the words.
May 1: Doomsday Pt. 2
Kanye kicks off Monday by dropping his long hyped Charlamagne interview. It’s nearly two hours long. :)
Then, later in the day he stopped by TMZ to share his thoughts on politics and freedom. There, he said the following controversial quote that shook the internet to its core: “When you hear about slavery for 400 years. For 400 years?! That sounds like a choice.”
(As was to be expected, Kanye spent the rest of the night on Twitter attempting to explain why he said slavery was a choice.)
During the TMZ interview Kanye also admitted that he became addicted to opioids after getting liposuction.
May 2: More texts no one asked to see
Kanye posted another screenshot today of private text messages from someone saved in his phone as Don C2.
