Two men have been arrested after the discovery of a clandestine meth lab in Auckland on Wednesday morning.

A 35-year-old from Albany and a 26-year-old Central Auckland man have been charged with multiple offences relating to the manufacturing, possession and supply of methamphetamine.

Search warrants carried out in Mt Roskill and Albany uncovered a "large, active clan lab" at one of the addresses, Avondale Police Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Richard Sami said.

"This was a complex lab in operation that was used for the purpose of manufacturing methamphetamine, which as we know causes significant harm in our community."

"We want to reassure the community that we will continue to actively seek out those responsible for making and suppling this harmful drug and hold them to account, so that we can keep our communities safe," Sami said.

The two men are due to appear in Auckland District Court today.

Earlier, police said they were carrying out a search warrant in the Mt Roskill-Balmoral area.

Cordons were in place at the intersections of Invermay Ave and Dominion Road, and Hardley Avenue and Hazel Avenue in Mt Roskill-Balmoral.

The road block would disrupt commuters for two hours or more, police said at 6.30am.
