WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W. Va. -- Former Texans cornerback Charles James is back in the AFC South division.
James was claimed by the Jacksonville Jaguars off waivers from the Buffalo Bills.
He was with the Indianapolis Colts last season.
James was cut by the Texans last season after stumbling in the snow at Lambeau Field and being beaten for a touchdown pass by Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers thrown to wide receiver Jordy Nelson.
James was a popular figure in the Texans' locker room known for his feisty nature and colorful sock collection. He had a star turn on the "Hard Knocks" program that focused on his socks and underdog status.
James has played in 34 career games with one start and has 28 career tackles, two passes defended and 15 special teams tackles.
Last year for the Texans, James played in a dozen games and had 12 tackles, one pass defended and six special-teams tackles. In 2015, he played in nine games with one start and had 14 tackles, one pass defended and five special teams tackles. He rejoined the Texans after spending time on the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad.
A former undrafted free agent from Charleston Southern, James entered the NFL as a rookie with the New York Giants in 2013.
