Senior Book Club
The group will discuss "Silver Sparrow" by Tayari Jones at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11.
Adult Book Club
This month’s title is "Silver Sparrow" by Tayari Jones. The group will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 17 to discuss the book.
Fairfield Public Library book clubs will be participating in the Essex County Big Read program.
Concert By Francine And Joel
“A Love Affair with Movies” concert at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5 will feature songs from many of Hollywood's most memorable productions such as "That's Entertainment," “Goldfinger,” "Cabaret," "Hole In The Head,"“Fame,” “The Little Mermaid,” ”The Wizard Of Oz” and others.
Life And Music Of Elvis Presley
Pear Tree Enterprises will present Learn & Listen: The Life and Music of Elvis Presley, a one-hour presentation with Maryanne Christiano-Mistretta speaking of the highlights of Elvis Presley’s career and personal life at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 22.
There will be a Q&A segment, followed by a half-hour of live music by the Ruben Castillo. In costume, Castillo will sing the songs that made Elvis become known as “The King.” Please join us for this unforgettable program .
Watercolor Classes
Merrill Crowell will return to the library to continue her watercolor classes. Learn the techniques of watercolor at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays, April 4, 11 and 18. Registration is required and space is limited.
500 Rummy Lessons
500 Rummy lessons will be held at 11:30 a.m. every Monday.
New Movies
"The Light Between Oceans," PG-13, will be shown at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 7.
"Manchester by the Sea," R, will be shown at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 21.
BYOD: Bring Your Own Device
Patrons can take their Smartphone or tablet to the library for individual training. Library staff will show the basics of the device and answer any questions. This training will take place at 10:30 a.m. every Thursday.
Learn And Play Mah-Jongg
Mah-Jongg will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.
Knitting For Beginners
Beginners are invited to join this class to learn the basics of knitting. The classes will be at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, April 4, 11 and 25. Take needles and yarn. Registration is required and space is limited.
Crocheting Club
Take yarn number 4 or 5 and hook F or G. The classes will be at 6:30 p.m. on Mondays, April 3, 10 and 17. Registration is required and space is limited.
Introduction To Italian Wines
Join food and wine writer Mark R. Vogel for a review of the wines of Italy at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 1. All of Italy’s major wine regions will be discussed, with emphasis on Piedmont and Tuscany. Learn how to buy, store and pair Italian wines with food as well.
Essential Oils
A class on Essential Oils for a Safer, Cleaner Home will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26. Learn how to make non-toxic essential oil cleaning products.
Spa Night
The Spa at Mecca will host a Spa Night at the Fairfield Public Library from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5 and offer complimentary mini-massages, mini-facials and skincare consultations to showcase effective anti-aging methods to the community.

Programs For Kids
Storytimes, no registration required:
Book Babies, 6 months to 2 years old, is held at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesdays .
Pre-K Storytime, 3 to 5 years old, will be held at 1 p.m. on a new day, Mondays, and at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Special Storytime & Egg Hunt
Miss Jaime will read some spring and Easter stories and then kids will decorate a special egg hunt bag. When the bags are finished, there will be an egg hunt at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 6.
Registration is required for this event so all kids find eggs.
Paws For Reading
Therapy dogs return to listen to stories. New and improving readers are welcomed to read their favorite books to the pups during this hour-long event at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 8 and at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26.
Maker Monday: Dreamcatcher
Kids ages 4 and older are invited to create their very own dreamcatcher at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 10.

Rizzo’s Reptiles
Dominic Rizzo’s animals are back for an animal adventure at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11. All ages are invited. Registration is required.
The 4 R’s & You
Join a representative from the Essex County Environmental Center in a program just in time for Earth Day. Reducing waste and recycling items is just the beginning of what can be done to help keep the planet green. All ages are invited at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12. Registration is required.
Going Green Presented By Fit4Kids
In Muscle Man Mike's "Going Green" (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) Show with side kick puppet Alli Gator, Muscle Man Mike will talk about caring for the planet Earth and what it means to be green in everyday life activities. For kids of all ages, this program will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 13. Registration is required.
Family Movie
"Moana," PG, will be shown at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 15.
Stories From Around The World
Join Miss Jaime on a literary journey throughout our world. This once-monthly program will showcase a different culture each program and include a craft or activity after some stories are read. This month’s storytime will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 20. All ages are welcome but registration is required.
Lego Club
Kids ages 5 and older can free build with the library's Lego bricks & have their creations displayed until the next month’s meeting. This month’s meeting will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 21. No registration is required.
Spanish Together
Kids in Kindergarten through third grade are invited to join Senora Joyce who will teach basic Spanish words through songs, games and other interactive activities.
Classes are at 4:30 p.m. on Mondays, April 24, May 1, May 8 and May 22.
Registration is required and will span all four dates as each session builds upon the last.
Jason Didner And The Jungle Gym Jam Concert
Kids of all ages are invited to rock on with Jason Didner at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 29. Singing kids’ favorites as well as his original songs, Didner will get children up and dancing.
