Spreading Awareness

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in New Jersey. Overexposure to sunlight is one of the most preventable risk factors for all types of skin cancer, which is why the health department emphasizes it is important to reduce your risk of over exposure.

Wearing protective clothing such as a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses, applying and reapplying sunscreen liberally and avoiding indoor tanning booths can help reduce your risk of skin cancer.

For more information, call the health department at 973-835-5700 ext. 109 or 135.
