A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Assay Development Scientist to join a leading and expanding life sciences company based in Yorkshire. As an organisation they are developing a cutting-edge technology for a strong therapeutic product pipeline within oncology and inflammatory diseases.
As an Assay Development Scientist you will be responsible for the set up and development of a range of in-vitro assays. This will support the characterisation and validation of the company's technologies. Key responsibilities will include:
*Design, develop and validate assays including ELISA, LFD assays, Agglutination assays, cell binding and cell-based activity assays.
*Perform routine cell and biochemical techniques, cell-based assays, and cell line analysis.
*Present work/data internally and write scientific reports.
*Maintaining a current and accurate laboratory records of all activities.
Experience:
o BSc & PhD in cell or molecular biology.
oA minimum of 2 years' industrial experience of working with and developing assays using antibodies.
oBeing able to demonstrate a strong ability to develop target binding (e.g. ELISA, LFD, Agglutination) and phenotypic based assays (phosphorylation, cell proliferation etc.) using a range of techniques (e.g. Western blot, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy and IHC).
oPrevious experience of molecular biology or small-scale protein expression and purification would be an advantage.
