Information Analyst (Ref: K03)

A vacancy has arisen for an Information Analyst reporting to the Manager of Technology Forecasting & Information (TFI). TFI is a global team of Information Analysts who manage the provision of information across the Johnson Matthey (JM) group. The primary purposes of the role are to gather scientific and commercial information and to analyse and interpret that to support the activities of Johnson Matthey’s existing and future businesses.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out expert searching, analysis and visualisation of technical and commercial information using specialist resources and by leveraging internal and external networks.
- Prepare relevant, concise and informative reports focusing on the needs of JM colleagues.
- Support and guide the dissemination of news and information across the JM group.
Are you the ideal candidate?
You will:
- Have a degree, or equivalent experience, in science, engineering, information management or a closely related subject.
- Be skilled at and enjoy problem-solving through analysis of data and information; being able to identify and summarise relevant aspects in line with customer requirements.
- Demonstrate excellent research skills; it would be desirable to have experience of searching technical and commercial databases.
- Be able to demonstrate a broad view and understanding of Johnson Matthey’s global operations.
- Be well organised, focussed and able to work to challenging deadlines.
- Work well individually as well as in teams from a range of disciplines.
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Be computer literate, including good use of Microsoft Office, SharePoint and online information search tools. Experience or an interest in handling and visualising large data sets would also be beneficial.
- Be assertive, confident and tactful when dealing with internal and external contacts.
- Be able to work flexible hours and travel internationally when required.
